Bio Richard Attrill

Profile

Richard is a seasoned investment banking executive with a distinguished career across global financial markets, having worked in New York, London, Hong Kong, and Sydney. He has led global risk trading businesses and sales teams, as well as Advisory, Quant, and Structuring Solutions functions. Known for his entrepreneurial mindset and strategic acumen, Richard has built successful businesses and launched innovative products, including an award-winning client analytics platform and a cross-asset derivatives trading platform. His experience spans a diverse client base, including multinational corporations, sovereign wealth funds, superannuation funds, hedge funds, asset managers, and private banks.

In 2018, he founded 3Qetc, a consultancy focused on organisational development, leadership coaching, and structured mentoring. With a Master’s in Coaching Psychology, Richard applies a systems-thinking approach grounded in evidence-based positive psychology to design data-driven programs that deliver sustainable growth and performance. 3Qetc has developed a suite of resources grounded in evidence-based positive psychology.

He has over 2,500 hours of executive coaching experience, working with leaders from the C-suite to senior management. He also led an award-winning global mentoring program reaching 1,000 participants at a major investment bank. Following the successful completion of a Global CEO search for an FTSE 250 company, 3Qetc expanded into Financial Markets Search.

Richard delivers data-driven insights. One example is a landmark study involving 400 executives who had participated in his programs across nine organisations, which identified the attributes of high-performing teams and leadership blind spots, with some alarming results. Richard is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and currently serves as a Non-Executive Director for a mining company. When you work with Richard one-on-one, you get a focused approach. Through your self-audit, a full suite of resources, tools, frameworks and surveys, and detailed follow-up after every meeting, Richard is supported by a comprehensive supervisory framework. The self-audit is a blend of internal and external focus.
